How to turn off SSL connection in Microsoft Outlook

 

Microsoft Outlook 2000

 

  1. Firstly, open Outlook, and then click Services on the Tools menu.
  2. From the Services window, click the e-mail account that you want to modify.
  3. Click Properties, and then click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click to clear the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box that is under Outgoing mail (SMTP).
  5. Click to clear the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box that is under Incoming mail (POP3).
  6. Click Apply, and then click OK two times.

 

For Outlook 2002

 

  1. Start your Outlook, and then click E-mail Accounts on the Tools menu.
  2. From the E-mail Accounts window, click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
  3. Select the e-mail account that you want to modify, and then click Change.
  4. Click More Settings.
  5. In the Internet E-mail Settings window, click the Advanced tab.
  6. Click to clear the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box that is under Incoming server (POP3).
  7. Click to clear the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box that is under Outgoing server (SMTP).
  8. Click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.
  9. Click Close!
